WHAT IS CELEBRATE RECOVERY?

Celebrate Recovery is a Biblical and balanced program to help anyone overcome hurts, habits and hang-ups. It is based on the actual words of Jesus from the Sermon on the Mount. While undoubtedly many lives have been helped through classic, 12-step programs, those programs are generally vague about the nature of God, the saving power of Jesus Christ and ministry of the Holy Spirit. By applying Biblical principles, we become free from our addictive, compulsive and dysfunctional behaviors. This freedom creates peace, joy and–most importantly–a stronger, personal relationship with God and others.

Hebrews 12:1b says, “…let us lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” There are many unhealthy issues that weigh us down and hinder God’s people. Some of those include codependency, chemical addictions, bitterness, fear, eating disorders, sexual addiction, pride, depression and anger.

Celebrate Recovery is a safe place that strictly adheres to confidentiality and anonymity. It is structured in such a way that people can come and take their masks off without fear of rejection, judgment, condemnation or criticism.

Common Recovery Issues

RECOVERY

(R) Realize I am not God. I admit I am powerless to control my tendency to do the wrong thing and my life is unmanageable. “Happy are those who know they are spiritually poor.”

(E) Earnestly believe God exists, that I matter to Him, and that He has the power to help me recover. “Happy are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”

(C) Consciously choose to commit all my life and will to Christ’s care and control. “Happy are the meek.”

(O) Openly examine and confess my faults to God, to myself, and to another person whom I trust. “Happy are the pure in heart.”

(V) Voluntarily submit to any and all changes God wants to make in my life. “Happy are those whose greatest desire is to do what God requires.”

(E) Evaluate all my relationships. Offer forgiveness to those who have hurt me and make amends for harm I have done to others, without expecting any reward. “Happy are the merciful…Happy are the peacemakers.”

(R) Reserve a daily time with God for prayer, Bible reading and self examination in order to know God and His will for my life and to gain the power to follow His will. “Happy are they who hunger and thirst after righteousness.”

(Y) Yield myself to be used by God to bring this Good News to others, both by my example and by my words. “Happy are those who are persecuted because they do what God requires.”
